The network student

I think that is is pretty good and cool to be able to contact whoever you want to get help for random things via the web, but can you trust it?! I'd probably say not very often. Id say it is probably more just used for inspiration and some class room ideas but not so much for assignments.

They ask why they even need a network teacher?! They say it is because they need someone to TEACH them how to build this network and how to take advantage of these opportunities. Then the other things the teacher would be there for would be guidance,  how to communicate and to ask for help, how to pick out good information instead of false or bad and then to turn web search into a scavenger hunt. And then she is there to help put together all the information.

I think I will be able to be a networked teacher in the sense that I can help the children utilize the web and new technology classes. But as for me using it with blogging or anything that probably wont happen. If I need help or inspiration for anything I hope to be able to go to my fellow colleagues or the principle. I also have almost all of my teachers that I had in school that I still talk to and converse about new teaching ideas, along with many family members that are teachers.

  1. Bailey,
Great blog post! You have a good point about if the Network Student would be able to get reliable information often. I didn't think about that aspect. You are right I believe it would probably be more beneficial for inspiration than anything. Good luck with the rest of the semester!

  2. Baldwin County is now ephasizing the use of challenge based, project-based and problem-based learning strategies at all grade levels. These efforts are similar to the networked student's approach to learning except the approaches vary according to grade. If you are not prepared or are not willing to be a networked teacher you can cross Baldwin County off your list of potential employers. So get ready to be a Networked Teacher!

  3. Hey! I agree that teachers are always going to be needed even with the new Networked Student idea, because they are the ones who TEACH the students how to set it up and everything. I also think that it is important to have the teacher and students in the classroom because that is the students learn to communicate with others. To me having a teacher in the classroom will always be important because the relationships I created with my high school teachers were the reason I wanted to become a teacher in the first place. Teachers are role models for students to look up to! Great blog post!
